Container Platform as a Service

As an Independent Software Vendor (ISV), delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) is key. This is why it is important to develop functions and launch new functionalities in a safe, fast and scalable way. This is now very easy with Kubernetes-based Container Platform as a Service.

What is a container platform?

Let's start at the beginning: container technology. Because what exactly is a container? A container is, as it were, a 'package' that consists of the application and all the components that are required for this application to run. Thanks to the uniform design of these containers, they work the same wherever they are started, on any platform and operating system.

A container is therefore an ideal basis for hosting code, precisely because a container can be used very well to provide part of an online application. These components are called microservices. By breaking up an application into microservices, it can also be developed in parts, which greatly accelerates the development of versions of an application. In addition, this structure of microservices ensures that parts of an application can be made scalable and that resources can therefore be used very efficiently. Of course, also for Container as a service.

In order to properly manage an entire container infrastructure with various application functions, a management platform is required. Kubernetes is one of the most important solutions in the current market. In order to be completely unburdened with hosting and maintaining this Kubernetes platform, Fundaments offers the Container Platform as a Service (CPaaS) service.

Completely unburdened thanks to Container Platform as a Service

With Container Platform as a Service (CPaaS), Fundaments offers a platform where Kubernetes Clusters are offered fully catered for. As a user of the platform, you can therefore focus on developing application code and Fundaments takes care of the rest: managing the infrastructure 24x7 and ensuring that the Kubernetes components function properly.

In addition, Fundaments has more than 20 years of experience with hosting concepts such as Container as a Service. So, in addition to the Kubernetes Cluster, Fundaments can also link and manage non-container-related components. This includes a managed database, load balancing, securing access to the application, but also ensuring continuity with backup and disaster recovery. This creates a broad set of solutions for applications that are in different development phases: whether it is still a server-based component, a completely containerized environment or a mixed environment. Everything is possible because of the Cloud Experts are managed by Fundaments.

100% control over your Cloud

Are you sure where your data is? That's what a sovereign Cloud can guarantee you. This guarantees that your data is on Dutch soil, that it is managed by a Dutch party, namely Fundaments, and that there is therefore full control over all your data. Fundaments IaaS is a completely Dutch platform, spread over seven data center locations in the East, Central and Western Netherlands. These are all Tier3+ locations: the highest achievable class for a Dutch data center at the moment. A Tier3+ data center has thought of everything in terms of security, including guaranteed power supply, burglary protection, water and fire detection and climate control.

Comply with Dutch laws and regulations

With Fundaments Cloud Connectivity as a Service, you comply with Dutch data storage legislation with all relevant certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, NEN 7510 and ISAE 3402 type I and II). Not only the IaaS service that you purchase, but Fundaments' Dutch data centers also have the same or similar certifications. Thanks to the NEN 7510 certification, the platform is also suitable for supporting healthcare institutions.
