Back-up as a Service (BaaS) by Fundaments
Fundaments uses Veeam and Cohesity's reliable technologies that enable both on-premises to Cloud backup and Cloud to Cloud backup. Fundaments offers all online Backup services in two ways: as Self-Service Backup or if Managed Backup. Self-service backup is ideal for users who resell infrastructure services and thus serve multiple end customers with the Fundaments product portfolio. For companies that want to focus on managing and using applications hosted at the Fundaments IaaS Platform offers Fundaments Managed Backup as a Service. With Managed Back-Up as a Service, Fundaments takes complete control of the backup and restore process, so you can be sure that your organization never stops in the event of an emergency. With these two online Backup services, you always have a Back-up as a Service that suits your organization.
Reliable backup providers
With Back-Up as a Service, Fundaments, in collaboration with Cohesity and Veeam, ensures that your data is always available.
Cohesity
Fundaments uses Cohesity Dataprotect for large-scale workload and application backups. Cohesity ensures that you can store all backups automatically, securely and scalably. Fundaments can control this, but you can also do this yourself. This is because via a self-service portal, you determine your backup policy yourself and monitor the entire backup process. Of course, you can also arrange the restore yourself from this online self-service portal.
Veeam
With Veeam Cloud Connect, Veeam has a unique solution for providing an additional copy of Veeam-based on-premises backup infrastructure. This allows you to benefit from Veeam's built-in WAN optimization technology. Veeam Cloud Connect provides a fully integrated, fast, and secure way to back up and replicate to the Fundaments Cloud. A fully automated, fast and secure way to back up and recover at a second location, where your data can be restored within minutes. Below are the Back-up as a Service variants with information about the underlying platform and the options for Managed Backup or Self-Service Backup.

Why Back-Up as a Service by Fundaments?
More and more, companies are opting to back up applications, workloads and storage systems, among other things. Not only does this reduce the risk of data loss, this method of storage and management also ensures the certainty of rapid recovery in the event of data loss and thus increased continuity of the organization. Cloud backups are also better protected against things like data hostage with cryptolockers. In addition, there are a few major advantages that make Back-Up as a Service attractive.
secure
A high level of security for business-critical data is essential. Fundaments Back-Up as a Service therefore makes it possible for all data to be stored redundantly with optimal protection against threats from hackers, natural disasters or user errors. In addition, the data can be stored in encrypted form if desired. Because the backups are stored in one of the Fundaments data center locations, where there is no direct connection between the source and backup location, a so-called “airgapped” scenario is created. Here, even in the event of a ransomware attack, no data adjustment can take place. With Veeam and Cohesity, backups can also be protected from changes, making them “immutable” and data is not modified by ransomware, for example.
easiness
Because the backup process of our Back-up as a Service is fully automated, you as a user do not have to worry about this process. Together, we determine which applications, systems and other data should be backed up, along with the frequency and intended monitoring. In this way, the focus remains on your services and Back-Up as a Service acts as security in the background.
24/7 backup
To ensure the functionality of Back-Up as a Service, our specialists closely monitor the processes and a restore is tested upon request. In addition, we regularly test our backup platform on a random basis to identify any risks in a timely manner. This is how we guarantee reliable Back-up as a Service in the Cloud and ensure that your company is up and running again very quickly in the event of an emergency.
Fast recovery
By storing data redundantly, Fundaments guarantees a rapid availability of backups in case of problems. We provide several copies of your backup that are stored in multiple secure Cloud locations. That way, you always have access to the most recent backup of your data and it will never be lost.
Data centers throughout the Netherlands
A requirement for reliable Backup as a Service is the secure storage of data in a datacenter. Fundaments manages various data centers spread across the East, West and Central Netherlands. All data centers are Tier3+ locations: the highest achievable class for data centers in our country where issues such as guaranteed power supply, burglary protection, water and fire detection and climate control are regulated in accordance with the strict requirements of the ISO 27001, NEN 7510 and ISAE 3402 certifications.

100% control over your Cloud
Are you sure where your data is? That's what a sovereign Cloud can guarantee you. This guarantees that your data is on Dutch soil, that it is managed by a Dutch party, namely Fundaments, and that there is therefore full control over all your data. Fundaments IaaS is a completely Dutch platform, spread over seven data center locations in the East, Central and Western Netherlands. These are all Tier3+ locations: the highest achievable class for a Dutch data center at the moment. A Tier3+ data center has thought of everything in terms of security, including guaranteed power supply, burglary protection, water and fire detection and climate control.
Comply with Dutch laws and regulations
With Back-Up van Fundaments, you comply with Dutch data storage legislation with all relevant certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, NEN 7510 and ISAE 3402 type I and II). Not only the IaaS service that you purchase, but Fundaments' Dutch data centers also have the same or similar certifications. Thanks to the NEN 7510 certification, the platform is also suitable for supporting healthcare institutions.
