24/7 access
Breakdown at night? Because you can always access your serves, the time of day of a calamity no longer determines the resolution time.
High-quality Tier3+ data centre locations
Your data safely stored in the best data centres, offered exclusively from high-quality Tier3+ data centre locations in the Netherlands.
Fully certified
Comply with laws and regulations thanks to complete certification: NEN 7510, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISAE 3402 type I and II.
Optimal security
All components in the data centre services are fully secure. In terms of physical security, this includes, for example, strict access control. Without approval from a Fundaments-authorised person, access cannot take place. In addition, multiple access factors are used, such as fingerprints, iris scans or hand scans.
Optimal operation
Besides safety, the crucial factors required to ensure the proper functioning of hardware must also be in order. Think of power. Besides using at least two different power feeds, these are also uniquely protected with UPS protection. This is, to absorb power surges, but also to provide a stable power supply.
Optimal climate
Of course, cooling and humidity must also be in order. When this is properly measured and controlled, the risk of the biggest nightmare, which is fire, is also well under control. Fundaments' Tier3+ data centres use sensors in them that locally measure the air composition; when there are elevated levels in them that give indication of a short circuit or incipient fire, an onset of catastrophe can be quickly detected and mitigated.
Optimal efficiency
As described, there are many components that determine the quality of a data centre. Fundaments adds its own specific quality in its list of requirements: the efficiency of a data centre. This is expressed in the PUE value (Power Usage Efficiency). This value indicates how much energy must be used to run the data centre.
Rackspace data centre
You can decide how much rack space you purchase. If you have just one or a few servers, then you should opt for a cost-effective colocation managed by Fundaments. If you have multiple servers, you can rent a half (21 height units) or whole rack (42 height units).
Colocation data centre
With colocation by Fundaments, your own servers are located in a certified data centre in the Netherlands and you receive 24/7 support. With redundant power supply, cooling and 24/7 monitoring, your data is always safely stored. Another great advantage of colocation from Fundaments is that you can easily connect your servers to Fundaments' other services, such as Back-up as a Service or Disaster Recovery as a Service.
If you have multiple servers you want in colocation, or would like to have your own rack, you should opt for private rack space. You will then have 24/7 access to your rack and servers.
Redundant network connectivity
Fundaments already holds more than 20 years of experience, which has ensured that each set of racks consists of fully optimised architecture. The racks can be delivered with a link to the Fundaments network, seamlessly connecting all existing services such as IaaS, BaaS and DRaaS. In addition, Fundaments ensures your network is redundantly linked within your racks, maximising connectivity.
100% control over your data
Want to be certain where your data resides? That's what Fundaments' Sovereign Cloud can guarantee. This gives you the assurance that your data is on Dutch soil, that it is managed by a Dutch party, which is Fundaments, and therefore there is full control over all your data. Fundaments' Private Cloud solutions are the basis for a solid and reliable IT infrastructure - at your premises or ours in the Netherlands. Our data centres are spread across seven data centre locations in the East, Central and West of the Netherlands. These are all Tier3+ locations: the highest achievable class for a Dutch data centre at the moment. A Tier3+ data centre has everything in place regarding security, including guaranteed power supply, intrusion protection, water and fire detection and climate control.
Comply with Dutch laws and regulations
With Fundaments' services, you comply with Dutch data storage legislation through all the relevant certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, NEN 7510 and ISAE 3402 type I and II). Not only the IaaS service you purchase, but also Fundaments' Dutch data centres have the same or similar certifications. The NEN 7510 certification also makes the platform suitable for supporting healthcare institutions.

FAQs
Fundaments ensures maximum safety and security of your servers in our Dutch data centres through strict access control, multiple authentication methods such as fingerprinting, and continuous monitoring of physical and digital security measures.
Tier classifications are based on US standards. Data centres in the Netherlands are set up slightly differently and therefore classification is trickier. Tier1 and Tier2 data centres are easy to achieve in the Netherlands. And because achieving 99.99% availability is possible in the Netherlands, Tier3 data centres are also common in the Netherlands. There are no Dutch Tier4 data centres, because with Tier4, power has to be delivered via two completely separate paths. In the Netherlands, we have a single steam network infrastructure, making this impossible.
To test how good the availability of a data centre is, the US standard TIA-942 was created in 2005 by the Uptime Institute. It classifies data centres into four tiers: Tier1 (Basic capacity), Tier2 (Redundancy of major components), Tier3 (Concurrently maintainable) and Tier4 (Fault tolerant). These Tiers indicate guarantees and redundancy. The higher the classification, the better the availability of the data centre. Each Tier (layer) builds on the previous layer: for example, Tier4 contains all the components of Tier1, Tier2 and Tier3 plus a number of additional requirements. In the Netherlands, we have no Tier4 data centres. Here, Tier3+ is the highest achievable.
Fundaments operates exclusively from Tier3+ data centres. A Tier3+ data centre is currently the highest achievable class for a Dutch data centre. In this kind of data centre, everything has been thought of in terms of security, such as guaranteed power supply, intrusion protection, water and fire detection as well as climate control.
With Fundaments Datacenter Services, you have 24/7 monitoring and access to your servers, which means you always have full control and can respond quickly to any failures or emergencies, regardless of the time of day.
Tier3 data centres in the Netherlands offer a high level of availability and redundancy, while Tier4 data centres require power to be supplied through two separate paths, which is not achievable in the Netherlands. Fundaments works exclusively with Tier3+ data centres, which offer the highest availability and security within the Dutch context.
The Tier classifications of data centres are based on US standards and indicate guarantees and redundancy. Fundaments' Tier3+ data centres meet the highest standards for security, power supply, intrusion detection, fire prevention and climate control, making them the optimal choice for companies requiring maximum reliability and availability of their IT infrastructure.
