Within the production data centres, Fundaments uses the following solutions for compute, networking and storage. These are made available within Fundaments Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), using VMware Cloud Director. This online management portal, combined with the administrative Fundaments Customer Portal, ensures simplicity of use, control of costs and 24/7 accessibility to Virtual Data Centre services.
VMware Cloud Director
Fundaments IaaS is linked to VMware Cloud Director: the portal for the technical management of Virtual Data Centres. A custom configuration can be created for each Virtual Data Centre regarding compute, storage and network. From the convenient web interface, any administrator can easily log in and perform day-to-day management of the following:
- Configuration and deployment of servers
- Starting/stopping virtual servers
- Using console functionality for management on a server
- Using snapshot backups
- Monitoring IaaS components, such as compute and storage characteristics
- Managing templates and ISO files for deploying workloads
- Managing networks (Network Edge services)

Fundaments Customer Portal
For administrative matters and support, Fundaments offers its own Fundaments Customer Portal. This portal provides insight into, among other things: contact persons, subscriptions and commercial use of the various Virtual Data Centres.

Pay as you Go IT infrastructure
All variable components in Fundaments IaaS, such as compute and storage, can be consumed as Pay as you Go. This means you can choose Fundaments IaaS without commitment and consume all Cloud resources on a pay per hour basis. When cost predictability is an important element in your organisation, you can also choose to consume the resources on a committed basis. A combination is also possible. This gives you maximum control over both costs and flexibility.
