In addition, the firewall analyses all data that goes in and out of your Cloud. Depending on the settings, it is determined which traffic passes through the firewall and which traffic is blocked.

Fundaments Firewall as a Service
Fundaments Firewall Security has two different firewall services to choose from, namely: 1) the FortiGate (from Fortinet) and 2) the NSX Firewall (from VMware).
What is FortiGate?
FortiGate is a powerful Next Generation Firewall service based on Fortinet's years of expertise. Fundaments provides this firewall service in both hardware appliances and a highly available virtual machine variant. An interesting feature is that this firewall can be expanded with various security features and bundles.The FortiGate can be used at Fundaments self-service if managed are purchased.
What is NSX Firewall?
Thanks to VMware's NSX Firewall, each individual Virtual Machine is protected with a centrally managed firewall. This allows you to decide at once “what” a Virtual Machine can communicate with, with “whom”. Thanks to this principle of microsegmentation, all doors remain closed to hackers and management is easy and organized. In addition to microsegmentation, NSX Firewall also offers load balancing, firewalling, network transport routing, and VPN. The NSX Firewall can only be used at Fundaments as self-service firewall are purchased.
Difference between FortiGate and NSX Firewall
Are you using your application landscape in a local Virtual Data Center (VDC)? Then we recommend that you choose the following firewall service: the NSX Firewall. VMware's seamless integration with Cloud Director ensures that management can be carried out very easily from one central location. Fundaments recommends the FortiGate Next Generation Firewall when additional services are used within the VDC or when more data traffic analysis is required (IPS/IDS). In addition, the FortiGate Next Generation Firewall security is the best option in a scenario with, for example, Disaster Recovery. In addition, this Fortinet firewall is a perfect fit if there are wishes regarding IPS and IDS, or if BGP or OSPF routing needs to be used.
