Internet from Fundaments
To ensure that Internet connections are separated from other users and that sufficient bandwidth is available, various Cloud Internet Services are offered from Fundaments IaaS services. These can be linked to an Edge Device: an NSX Edge or FortiGate Next Generation Firewall, but can also be directly linked as an external Cloud network in a Virtual Data Centre(VDC) or colocated equipment. In this, Fundaments provides the routing of the internet and then delivers a private connection using VLAN, in which an IPv4 on IPv6 block is routed.
At Fundaments' various data centre locations, we have redundantly implemented our connectivity. Each location works with a mix of internet providers that together can provide more than 40Gbps of internet traffic. Fundaments very specifically chose two locations in the Amsterdam region, and specifically Nikhef, as major carriers also handle their traffic there, including traffic to the UK and the US. By connecting directly with parties that handle global traffic, you get low latencies (delays) to and from the internet, ensuring a fast connection.
